Disneyland randomness

Some people just do not get the point when it comes to ideas and ideals.
Below is some text i took from a blog i frequently engage at.

Anon says: "Johnny Depp as celebrity is not in Pirates, but Depp as "Jack Sparrow" is. Like Davy, Jack is a Disney character and is just as popular with a higher grossing trilogy of films and may endure longer than Davy, so why would you not use your most popular fictional characters?"
me: "
BECAUSE THEY BECOME DATED, when the characters are based on real human actors, or vice versa! Tell me, where is any Fess Parker as Davey Crockett attraction located in the park now?"

What do you think will happen once the movie POTC popularity fades? I can tell you.
Another butchering remodel of a ride that, at ONE TIME used to showcase a TIMELESS STORY with no main actor(s) involved. I hate to remind Imagineers and Disney suits about this, but the 1997 "P.C." remodel was unneccessary. There wasn't anything politically correct about piracy to begin with. and for 30 years, most children that rode the ride, didn't see the "Rape" or the men chasing women for, well, for whatever your imagination should choose.
The "conservative" adults/parents were the ones reading way too deep into the storyline.
Even if you have heavy christian or strong catholic beliefs, why would you put yourself into "harms way" in the first place? The ride was still called PIRATES when you rode it...I guess the religious groups that made such a fuss and push for Disneyland to P.C. the ride, didn't "Believe" that real Pirates Rioted, Raped, Pillaged and Plundered.... It's really sad.
